What's Happening in Our School
CONGRATULATIONS WAKAKIRRI TEAM.
This Wednesday our Year 7 Wakakirri team performed their item “SPRING, SPRANG, SPRUNG” at the Events Centre, Caloundra. The students did an awesome job, gaining 4 gold and 2 silver awards on the night. The gold awards were for music, sets and props, costumes and story and the silvers were for story dancing and entertainment presentation. We also won the award for the most creative use of the signature item SPRING.
Our three speakers, James Gray, Rhaudi Burke and Shannon McGreggor told the audience how our story has made a positive impact and was sustainable, as well as thanking all involved. A special mention must be made to James who did an impressive job, standing in at the last moment for one of our designated speakers who was unable to attend. Our positive behaviour mascot “Brian Bee” also made an entrance in the item.
A performance like this does not happen without the assistance of many people. A huge thanks to staff members, Linda Burdinat, Lani Van Damme, Ian Jenkins, Jade Coutts and Trevor Keys for their time and assistance as well as Karen Jubb and Erin Lord for their contributions. Thanks also go the Sean Archer Scott for the music compilation, Emma Whiteman for make-up and Jan Taylor for assistance with the speakers. To the parents, thanks for allowing your students to be involved in this journey and finally to the students congratulations on your efforts, creativity and teamwork. Well done, everyone.
Cheryl Thornely, Coordinator.
